Job Title: Education Compliance Officer – Tuition Service
Location: Debden, Essex
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
About Us
JDS Tuition is a specialist Alternative Provider supporting SEN students who are not currently accessing education. We work in partnership with the local authority to provide high-quality tuition while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and compliance for all staff and tutors.
About the Role
We are looking to recruit an Education Compliance Officer, preferably with an immediate start, based full-time at our offices in Debden. This role supports the onboarding, vetting, and ongoing compliance of tutors working with SEN students.
Hours
*Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
*Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
*Reduced hours during school holidays
*Casual dress code
*Handover and training provided
Key Responsibilities
*Understanding compliance rules and practices
*Supporting new tutor registrations and applications
*Proactively adhering to processes, practices, and documentation
*Ensuring compliance information is collated and processed within agreed deadlines
*Managing and organising candidate documentation
*Uploading documents to the database
*Conducting effective compliance checks
*Processing DBS applications and chasing references
*Maintaining accurate records of all information
*General administrative duties
*Updating the Local Authority daily register
*Preparing documentation and reports
*Keeping up to date with relevant policies and processes, including GDPR
Required Skills and Attributes
*Experience within an education recruitment or tuition environment desirable but not essential
*Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
*Strong attention to detail
*Confident written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
*Ideally experienced in a similar compliance role (education, health, or social care)
*Previous compliance and education-sector experience highly advantageous
