Job Advert: Gardeners / Grounds Maintenance Operatives
Location: Coventry
Assignment: 3-month cover (potential extension)
Pay:£24,897 per annum / £12.94 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
About the Role
We are currently seeking Gardeners / Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join a busy estates team, delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced operatives who take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive outdoor environments.
You’ll work as part of a friendly and hands-on team, following structured maintenance plans and using a full range of equipment including ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, strimmers, and blowers.
Key Responsibilities
• Grass cutting and collection

• Removal and disposal of green waste

• Hedge and bush reduction/shaping

• Strimming

• Weed management

• Shrub maintenance, pruning, and planting

• Litter picking

• Maintenance of hard-standing areas
Requirements
• Previous grounds maintenance experience

• Confident using petrol-powered equipment and ride-on mowers

• Able to undertake physical outdoor work, including lifting

• Strong teamwork skills

• Basic record-keeping and reporting ability

• Good customer service skills

• Basic Health & Safety awareness

• Ability to work to varying deadlines
Essential Checks & Licences
• Full Manual UK Driving Licence

• Basic DBS Check
Desirable Qualifications
• PA1 & PA6 spraying licence

• Banksman training

• Trailer towing licence (vehicle provided)
