SEN Teaching Assistant - North Bristol Primary School
Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: North Bristol (Bishopston area)
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm (Mon-Fri, term time)
Pay: £90.00 - £100.00 per day (via PAYE)
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP
A warm, welcoming and inclusive North Bristol primary school is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. The role involves providing tailored support for children with autism (ASD), helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
You will be part of a friendly staff team committed to creating a positive learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
What you’ll be doing
*Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
*Encouraging confidence, independence and positive social interaction
*Using visual timetables, communication aids and structured routines
*Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support
*Helping foster a calm, engaging and nurturing classroom environment
We’re looking for someone who:
*Has experience working with children (school, nursery, care or similar)
*Is calm, patient and positive in their approach
*Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
*Works well as part of a team and builds strong relationships with pupils
Requirements
*An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply - support available)
*Right to work in the UK
*Recent, relevant references
