Room Leader – Limehouse
Job Title: Room Leader – Baby Room
Department: Early Years
Pay: Up to £32’000+ (Dependant on Qualifications and Experience)
Area: Limehouse
Hours: 40 Hours per week


Summary:
Our client began as a local mothers’ group and has grown into a successful not-for-profit nursery and registered charity. They are uniquely run by a team of managers and a Board of Trustees made up of their own parents. This means every penny they make goes straight back into the setting and other children.
The nursery has been operating since 2019 and is built inside beautifully converted railway arches. The space is bright, spacious, and high spec, providing a lively environment where children truly thrive.


Key Responsibilities: Baby Room Leader
Leading the Room
Team Guidance: Lead and inspire a small team of practitioners, ensuring the highest standards of care and early years practice are met daily.
Role Model: Set the tone for a warm, nurturing, and calm environment, acting as a point of expertise for infant development (ages 3 months to 2 years).
Planning & Prep: Oversee the delivery of age-appropriate, sensory-rich activities that follow the EYFS framework and cater to individual developmental stages.


Care & Development
Nurturing Environment: Ensure all babies feel safe and secure through consistent routines, including feeding, sleep schedules, and personal care.
The "Outdoor" Ethos: Introduce our youngest learners to nature through sensory garden play and "outdoor classroom" experiences tailored for infants.
Tracking Progress: Maintain accurate developmental records and observations for your key children, ensuring their milestones are celebrated and supported.


Parent & Community Partnership
Relationship Building: As a parent-led charity, you will build exceptionally strong, transparent relationships with families.
Communication: Lead daily handovers and contribute to parent-teacher meetings, ensuring parents feel fully involved in their child’s nursery journey.


Safety & Quality
Safeguarding: Act as a champion for child protection, ensuring all safeguarding policies are strictly followed within your room.
Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, high-spec, and safe environment within our unique railway arch setting.


Qualifications:
Level 3 or above in childcare or above. (Level 3, T-Level, Early years degree, QTS, PGCE, NNEB)
Has experience working with the children aged 3 months to 5 years old
Have strong EYFS knowledge and be able to implement in all activities
Have strong verbal and writing communication skills
Paediatric first aid
