Art / Design & Technology Technician
Full-time | 5 days per week
Secondary Schools across Merton
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Art / Design & Technology Technician to join a group of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools in the London Borough of Merton. This is a full-time role, working five days per week, supporting creative departments across various school settings.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about creativity, enjoys working in education, and is looking to grow within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As an Art / DT Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by ensuring lessons run smoothly and safely. Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for Art and DT lessons

* Maintaining and organising workshops, classrooms, and storage areas

* Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times

* Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons where required

* Managing stock levels and ordering supplies

* Maintaining equipment and assisting with displays of students’ work

The Ideal Candidate

* Has experience working with Art and/or DT materials and equipment

* Is keen to develop professionally within education

Previous school-based experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate with relevant technical skills.
