We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Site Fitter with a strong mechanical background. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on fitter who enjoys a workshop-based role but is also happy to travel occasionally to client sites for installation and commissioning work.
The successful candidate will be based primarily at the company’s manufacturing facility, supporting the build, assembly, and testing of mechanical and electrical equipment. From time to time, you’ll also attend customer sites.
This role would suit a mechanically minded fitter with some electrical experience who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys seeing projects through from build to installation.
The role
*Building and assembling mechanical equipment in a workshop environment
*Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
*Carrying out mechanical fitting, fault-finding, and repair work
*Supporting installations and commissioning at customer sites
*Representing the business professionally when working on-site
*Adhering to health & safety standards in both workshop and site environments
The ideal candidate
*Proven experience as a Site Fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter
*Strong mechanical bias with experience of machinery, components, and assemblies
*Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
*Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
*Willingness to travel occasionally for site-based work
*Full UK driving licence
