Job Description:
Nursery Teacher (Part-Time, Permanent) – Southend-on-Sea, Essex (SS3)
Join a welcoming, values-led Trust nursery in Southend-on-Sea as a qualified Nursery Teacher. This permanent, part-time opportunity offers a consistent two-day working week and the chance to make a meaningful difference to children’s early learning, development and wellbeing.
Salary: £22,601–£27,785 per annum (pro rata), dependent on experience, plus benefits
Working pattern: Monday & Tuesday, 8:15am–4:00pm (daytime only; scheduled breaks included)

The roleYou will deliver high-quality early years education within a nurturing, child-centred environment. Supported by strong leadership and excellent resources, you’ll use reflective practice to create engaging learning experiences and help every child thrive socially, emotionally and educationally.
Key responsibilities*Deliver teaching in line with the EYFS framework
*Plan, deliver and evaluate stimulating learning activities
*Observe, assess and maintain accurate records of children’s progress
*Support children’s social, emotional and educational development
*Promote a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
*Work as a qualified Nursery Teacher within the 1:13 staff-to-child ratio
*Collaborate effectively with colleagues and, where required, wider professionals
*Build positive relationships and communicate clearly with parents and carers
*Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety requirements
Requirements*Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Early Years Professional (EYP) status
*Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship required)
*Able to be counted within the 1:13 ratio
*Experience in an early years or nursery setting
*Strong knowledge of EYFS and early childhood development
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
*Genuine passion for early years education
