Outreach Tutor – Newham
Make a real difference to vulnerable learners across Newham
New Chapter Tuition is seeking dedicated, resilient Outreach Tutors to support children and young people across Newham who are unable to access mainstream education.
This is a highly rewarding role working 1:1 with learners with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, and those at risk of exclusion. You’ll use a relationship-based, trauma-informed approach to re-engage learners, rebuild confidence, and support positive educational and emotional outcomes.
The Role: Outreach Tutor (Newham)As an Outreach Tutor, you will deliver personalised education in community-based settings, including learners’ homes, libraries, learning hubs, and alternative provisions across Newham.
Key responsibilities include:
*Delivering 1:1 outreach tuition to learners with SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs
*Planning and adapting sessions to meet individual learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
*Using creative, flexible strategies to re-engage learners who are disengaged from education
*Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and motivation
*Monitoring progress and providing clear feedback to families, schools, and professionals
About YouTo succeed in this role, you’ll be passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and confident working independently in community settings.
We’re looking for tutors who have:
*Experience working with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, or learners excluded from mainstream education
*Knowledge of the UK curriculum, with a flexible and learner-centred approach
*A calm, patient, and empathetic manner
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
*Confidence delivering tuition in alternative or outreach environments
