Job Description:
Our business is a fast-growing international group operating across financial services, trading, e-commerce, M&A advisory, and manufacturing. Our portfolio includes four businesses operating across the UK, with plans to grow by a further 1-2 businesses in the next 12 months.
The group has recently reached the statutory audit threshold, and we are looking to appoint an experienced Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping across the group and supporting senior management with accurate, timely financial information.
The Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across multiple companies within the group, working closely with directors, external accountants, and auditors.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, autonomy, and working in a growing entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple group entities
*Maintaining accurate ledgers (sales, purchases, bank reconciliations)
*Managing accounts payable and receivable
*Processing invoices, expenses, and inter-company transactions
*Preparing monthly management accounts support packs
*VAT returns and HMRC filings
*Assisting with audit preparation and responding to auditor queries
*Supporting cashflow tracking and forecasting
*Liaising with external accountants and tax advisers
*Maintaining strong financial controls and documentation across the group
Requirements
*Proven experience as a Assistant Accountant/ Bookkeeper (multi-company experience preferred)
*Strong working knowledge of Xero (essential)
*Experience with Zoho (highly desirable but not essential)
*Solid understanding of UK VAT and compliance
*Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
*High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*Professional, discreet, and commercially aware
