Maintenance Technician (Multi-Skilled)
Location: Banbury Type: Permanent, full-time Salary: Up to £52,924 per annum Working Hours: Wednesday – Saturday
Are you a multi-skilled Maintenance Technician looking for your next opportunity? We are working with a well-established client in the Banbury area who is seeking a motivated individual to join their maintenance team.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in ensuring equipment availability across production processes, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and providing timely responses to breakdowns. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in fault finding, diagnostics, and implementing long-term solutions, all while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
*Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively, delivering both immediate and sustainable solutions.
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site equipment.
*Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
*Work closely with equipment users to understand issues and deliver practical solutions.
*Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
*Complete clear handover notes and reports.
*Undertake risk assessments and issue permits to work when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
*ONC (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering, plus apprenticeship completion.
*NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a secondary mechanical/electrical discipline.
*Experience in a maintenance department, ideally within food manufacturing or processing.
*Knowledge of PLCs (preferably Siemens).
*Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and procedures (COSHH, working at heights, confined spaces).
*Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
*A team player attitude, effective communication skills, and computer literacy (Excel, maintenance software).
Desirable: 17th Edition Certificate or equivalent.

*Wednesday (12pm – 6pm), Thu – Sat (7am to 6pm) - a 39 hour week over 3.5 days.
