Project Accountant / Finance Business Partner
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £50-55,000
Well established manufacturing organisation looking for a Project Accountant/ Finance Business Partner to support the financial management of long-term products and projects within a commercially focused business. This role blends hands-on project accounting with forward-looking business partnering.
The successful candidate will have experience accounting for long-term contracts or products, with working knowledge of IFRS 15 and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities
*Financial ownership of long-term projects
*Accounting for revenue, costs, margins and profitability on long-term arrangements
*Application and interpretation of IFRS 15, including revenue recognition and performance obligations
*Preparation and review of project cost tracking, WIP, accruals and provisions
*Monitoring project performance against forecasts, budgets and contractual milestones
*Supporting contract reviews and assessing financial implications of commercial terms
*Act as a trusted finance partner to project, product, operations and commercial teams
*Challenge assumptions and highlight risks and opportunities within project performance
*Support business planning, long-range forecasting and scenario modelling
*Translate financial data into clear, actionable insight for non-finance stakeholders
*Support audit processes and provide documentation relating to long-term revenue and cost recognition
*Maintain accurate documentation of accounting judgments and policies relating to IFRS 15
About You
*Qualified or part-qualified accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA
*Proven experience in project accounting or long-term product accounting
*Practical working knowledge of IFRS 15
*Strong commercial mindset with the confidence to partner across the business
*Comfortable operating in complex, contract-based or project-driven environments
*Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
