Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Charity Audit Manager to join a reputable firm in Bristol. The role requires expertise in accounting and finance to manage charity audits effectively.
Client Details
Our client is a progressive regional firm with a reputation for high-quality audit and advisory work. They offer a structured environment with clear progression routes as the firm continues to invest in growth and talent.
Description
*Lead charity and not-for-profit audit engagements end to end, taking ownership from planning and risk assessment through to finalisation and partner sign-off.
*Apply and interpret charity-specific accounting and regulatory requirements, fund accounting, income recognition, and governance reporting.
*Act as a trusted point of contact for trustees, finance directors and senior stakeholders, providing clear, practical advice on technical and judgemental matters.
*Review audit files and statutory accounts, ensuring high standards of quality, consistency and compliance while meeting agreed budgets and timelines.
*Coach and develop audit team members, providing hands-on support, constructive review feedback and on the job training.
*Identify process improvements and value-add insights for charity clients, balancing technical rigour with a pragmatic understanding of their operating environment.
*Work closely with colleagues across audit, accounts and advisory to deliver a joined-up, relationship led service.
Profile
A successful Charity Audit Manager should have:
*A solid grounding in charity and not-for-profit audit, with the judgement and confidence to operate as a trusted manager on engagements rather than a technical specialist alone.
*Someone who enjoys leading people and building relationships, and is comfortable being the first point of escalation for both clients and junior team members.
*ACA, ACCA qualified, with experience operating at Audit Manager level within practice.
*A commercial and pragmatic mindset, able to balance audit quality, client needs, and delivery.
*Motivated to develop further within a mid-size, relationship-led firm, with an interest in long-term progression and contributing to the wider audit team.
Job Offer
*Competitive salary of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum.
*Permanent role based in Bristol with opportunities for professional growth.
*Supportive and collaborative working environment.
*Comprehensive benefits package (details to be confirmed).
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Charity Audit Manager to advance their career in Bristol. If you are passionate about accounting and finance within the charity sector, we encourage you to apply today.
