Long-Term Male PE Teacher – Secondary – Newbury Area

We are working with a well-established secondary setting in the Newbury area that is seeking a committed and enthusiastic male PE Teacher for a long-term role running through to July. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking for stability for the remainder of the academic year within a supportive department and a school with strong values around student development and sport.
The Role
This is a full-time teaching position covering a broad PE timetable across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including both practical and theory lessons. You will be joining a cohesive and experienced department with strong systems already in place.
Key responsibilities include:
*Delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3–KS4
*Supporting students’ physical development, resilience, teamwork and wellbeing
*Leading and supervising practical sessions across a wide range of sports
*Contributing to extracurricular programmes such as after-school clubs and school fixtures
*Providing role-model presence and positive male staffing where required for supervision
*Planning, marking, assessment and reporting in line with school expectations
*Working collaboratively with colleagues across the PE team
*Maintaining high standards of behaviour, safety and professionalism at all times
What We’re Looking For

You should have:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised UK teaching qualification
*Experience teaching PE in UK secondary schools
*Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
*A proactive attitude to enrichment and wider school involvement
*Ability to commit to a full-time role through to July
*Reliability, professionalism and a strong presence as a male member of staff
