Communications Specialist
Location: Filton (60% onsite)
Contract (Inside IR35): Until April 2027 possible extension
Pay: £33.44 per hour Umbrella / £25.00 per hour PAYE
Hours: 35 per week (overtime paid at standard rate)
About the Role We’re recruiting an experienced Communications Specialist to join a large, high-profile organisation on an interim basis. This is a key maternity cover role working closely with UK and global communication teams to deliver effective, engaging communications both internally and externally.
You will act as a trusted business partner - managing communication requests, shaping content, and driving strategic comms plans across multiple functions. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, excellent writing skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality content at pace.
Key Responsibilities *Develop and deliver communication plans aligned to business priorities
*Produce high-quality content including articles, events materials, photo/video assets, community updates and internal communications
*Manage and prioritise communication requests, ensuring alignment to strategic plans
*Support community engagement and local stakeholder relations
*Collaborate with site leadership teams, HR, Public Affairs, unions and cross-functional colleagues
*Lead comms projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams where required
*Maintain governance tools and communication tracking systems
What We’re Looking For *Proven experience in internal, external, or community communications
*Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills
*Ability to quickly build relationships and influence at all levels
*Strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability
*Experience working in large or complex organisations
*Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
*Not a marketing role - this is pure communications
