Job Title: Maintenance Multi Trader
Reports to: Maintenance & Facilities Manager / Business Operations Leader
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £42,105 + Benefits
Location: South London
Purpose of the Role
The Maintenance Multi Trader plays a vital role in maintaining properties to a high standard of repair, safety, and presentation. The post-holder will work both autonomously and collaboratively, contributing to the organisation’s mission, values, and operational success.
The role ensures residents and landlords experience a clean, safe, well-maintained environment through planned, reactive, and proactive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Maintenance & Repairs
*Carry out maintenance, repair and improvement works across all properties.
*Work across communal areas, offices, external spaces, and resident units.
*Complete refurbishment projects for offices and resident accommodation.
*Undertake multi-trade tasks including:
*Basic carpentry
*Basic electrics
*Basic plumbing
*Tiling (small areas)
*Plastering
*Painting
*Review and complete tasks assigned through the In-Form maintenance software.
*Log, raise and update maintenance tasks in the system.
*Perform routine and minor repairs as directed by managers.
*Support staff with assembling/moving furniture
*Ensure safe, secure storage of tools and equipment.
*Maintain high standards of Health and Safety
2. Housekeeping & Compliance
*Conduct regular checks and repairs in communal and residential areas to maintain high standards (e.g. mastics, extractor fans, limescale removal, drains, furniture condition).
*Carry out monthly housekeeping checks, including statutory compliance such as tap water temperatures.
*Keep accurate housekeeping records.
*Ensure buildings remain compliant with Health & Safety and Fire Regulations.
*Maintain property grounds:
*Clear refuse, leaves, debris, gutters and drains
*Maintain fencing
*Keep surroundings free from rubbish
*Occasionally complete gardening tasks (trimming bushes, grass cutting, leaf blowing)
*Support property inspections and audits as required.
3. Specialist Jobs
*Report all specialist issues (fire equipment, CCTV, major plumbing/electrical faults, leaks, refurbishments)
*Support the Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications & Training
*Willingness to undertake further training.
*Recognised qualification in building trades (electrics, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical services) desirable.
Knowledge & Experience
*Strong maintenance experience.
*Experience across multiple building trades.
*Ability to work without direct supervision.
*Knowledge of:
*COSHH
*Management of Health & Safety at Work
*Hazard vs risk principles
Skills & Competencies
*Strong organisational abilities.
*Attention to detail.
*Ability to multitask and prioritise.
*Good verbal and written communication.
*Team player
*Able to follow guidelines
