A respected, well-established law firm in Reading is seeking a motivated Criminal Paralegal to join its busy and highly regarded Criminal Defence team. The Role
You will play a key role in supporting fee-earners across the Criminal Defence team, including:
*Managing and preparing case files
*Taking initial client instructions and conducting client interviews
*Attending police stations (with training) and preparing briefs
*Conducting legal research and gathering evidence
*Drafting documents, statements, applications, and correspondence
*Liaising with courts, counsel, probation, and external agencies
*Ensuring all casework complies with deadlines, policies, and professional standards

About You
*Ideally 6+ months experience in criminal law (or strong legal support experience)
*A genuine interest in criminal defence and justice
*Strong communication skills and resilience
*Ability to stay organised under pressure
*Proactive, committed, and able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism
*Law degree, LPC or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
