Job Title: Caretaker

Hours: 10:30am – 6:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Job Purpose
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support the day-to-day maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the site. This is a temporary ongoing role with the potential to continue long term for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Opening, securing, and locking up the premises as required
Carrying out daily site checks to ensure safety and security
General maintenance and minor repairs (basic DIY)
Setting up rooms for events, meetings, or activities
Monitoring heating, lighting, and water systems
Managing deliveries and contractors on site
Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times
Reporting faults, defects, or hazards promptly
Supporting cleaning teams where required
Assisting staff with site-related issues during the shift
Requirements
Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities role
Good understanding of health & safety procedures
Practical, hands-on approach with basic maintenance skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Good communication skills
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
Experience working in a school or educational setting
Knowledge of COSHH, fire safety, or site compliance
