About the Role
We’re seeking an organised, proactive, and confident Credit Controller to join our team. You will play a crucial role in managing the company’s debtors, ensuring timely payments, resolving queries, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing customer service with financial accuracy.
This role is fully office-based in Huntingdon and can pay £22 per hour on an initial 3 month contract.
Key Responsibilities
*Proactively chase outstanding invoices via phone, email, and written communication
*Allocate and reconcile payments
*Monitor customer accounts and place accounts on stop where necessary
*Maintain accurate records of all debtor interactions
*Resolve invoice disputes and escalate issues when required
*Produce weekly and monthly debtor reports
*Work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to streamline processes
*Assist in improving credit control procedures and reducing aged debt
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience in a credit control or similar finance role
*Excellent communication skills with a confident telephone manner
*Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
*Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and colleagues
*Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP – advantage but not essential)
*Strong organisational and time-management skills
*Ability to work autonomously and prioritise workload effectively
