Deputy Team Manager - Permanence Team 2 | Liverpool
Location: Liverpool
Rate: £40 per hour (Umbrella / Ltd - DfE compliant)
Role Type: Non-caseholding
Liverpool Council is seeking an experienced Deputy Team Manager to join their Permanence Service, supporting the Team Manager and social work teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for children in care.
The Role:
*Support the Team Manager in leading the Permanence Service and social work teams
*Apply all relevant legal frameworks confidently to Looked After Children / Children in Care cases
*Analyse and minimise risk while supporting long-term positive change and pathway planning
*Promote a high-performance culture with consistent good practice across the team
*Chair meetings and work closely with multi-agency partners, including Police, Health, and Education, to advocate for children and young people
*Support recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of team members, championing professional development
*Act as a Practice Educator
Requirements:
*Proven experience as a Deputy Team Manager within Permanence / LAC / CiC services
*Strong understanding of children’s journeys and statutory frameworks
*Confident in risk assessment, pathway planning, and multi-agency collaboration
*Experience in supervision, staff development, and embedding good practice
