We are supporting a well-established logistics organisation with a strong reputation for quality, customer focus and operational excellence. The business has undergone sustained investment in people, process and technology and is now looking for an experienced Team Manager to lead its afternoon/evening warehouse operation.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced leader to take ownership of a busy shift, drive performance, and develop a motivated, high-performing team within a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment.
This a Monday - Friday role (2pm - 10pm) with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays off!
The Role
As Team Manager, you will be responsible for running the full end-to-end warehouse operation on the 2pm–10pm shift, ensuring the safe, efficient flow of goods and delivery of all service-level expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead, motivate and develop a team of warehouse colleagues, ensuring clear communication and strong engagement.
*Manage all operational activity including receiving, putaway, picking, inventory, loading and dispatch.
*Monitor and deliver KPI performance including productivity, accuracy, stock integrity and service levels.
*Embed and champion a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with H&S, HR and audit standards.
*Coach and performance-manage colleagues, delivering reviews, development plans and training.
*Maintain shift resource planning, labour allocation and cost control.
*Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
*Support effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers.
*Ensure all SOPs are followed and regularly reviewed to reflect best practice.
What We’re Looking For
A confident, people-focused operational leader with strong experience in warehousing, distribution or 3PL environments.
Essential Experience & Skills:
*5+ years managing logistics operations within a warehouse or transport environment.
*Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a multi-user or compliance-led warehouse environment.
*Strong understanding of warehouse processes, compliance and industry legislation.
*Solid knowledge of health & safety and HR procedures.
*Experienced in managing KPIs, labour planning and productivity measures.
*Strong IT literacy, including WMS exposure and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
*Demonstrable experience of coaching, motivating and managing teams.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
