A primary school in the Penwortham area is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a male pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As a Hays Education consultant, I’m working closely with the school to identify someone who can make a genuine difference to this child’s learning experience.
Your new role
The successful candidate will work on a one-to-one basis with a pupil who requires consistent, structured support to access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom. Your role will involve:
*Providing personalised learning support throughout the school day
*Helping the pupil develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits
*Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCo
*Supporting emotional regulation and social development
*Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing, and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Experience supporting children with SEND (school-based or transferable experience)
*A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
*Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust
*A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
*Availability for a full-time, long-term role
