Job Description:
Job Title: Driver / Valeter
Contract: Initially 6 Month FTC, with a view of extending once complete
Salary: £25,800 Per annum
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Hours:
*Monday–Friday: 08:15 – 17:00
*Alternate Saturdays: 08:15 – 12:30
About the Role
A well-established rental and fleet operation is seeking a reliable and energetic Driver / Valeter to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining vehicles to exceptional standards and enjoys a mix of valeting and safe vehicle transportation.
You will be responsible for preparing vehicles for rental or sale, ensuring they are presented to the highest standard, and supporting vehicle movements between sites.
Key Responsibilities
*Clean and detail vehicle interiors and exteriors (vacuuming, dusting, polishing, waxing).
*Inspect vehicles for damage or mechanical issues and report promptly.
*Maintain accurate records of cleaning and maintenance tasks.
*Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers and colleagues.
*Safely transport vehicles to and from designated locations.
*Work to a planned schedule to ensure timely vehicle delivery/collection.
*Assist with basic maintenance tasks (fluid checks, bulb replacement, minor repairs).
*Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work environment.
*Follow all company safety, maintenance, and operational procedures.
Requirements
*Full, clean UK driver’s licence.
*7.5T (Category C) and/or Minibus (Category D) highly desirable.
*Fluent in English with clear, legible handwriting.
*Capable of basic numeracy.
*Previous vehicle cleaning, valeting, or similar experience preferred.
*Confident operating both manual and automatic vehicles.
*Excellent attention to detail and time management.
*Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
*Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
*Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required.
