Job Description:
Job Title: Plumbing Apprenticeship Teacher / AssessorLocation: East London
Hours: 21.6 hours per week (Part-Time)
Salary: £17,054 – £26,674 (pro rata)
Contract Type: Fixed Term until July 2026
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Plumbing Apprenticeship Teacher/Assessor to support and assess apprentices across Plumbing and Building Services programmes. This is a dual delivery and assessment role, combining workplace assessment with teaching and learner support within a further education setting.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring apprentices develop the technical competence, knowledge, and behaviours required to successfully complete their apprenticeship and progress within the industry.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver high-quality teaching and training to Plumbing apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards
*Assess apprentice competence in the workplace and on-site environments
*Plan, deliver, and review learning programmes aligned to awarding body and EPA requirements
*Support learners with portfolio development, functional skills (where applicable), and preparation for End Point Assessment
*Monitor learner progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback
*Maintain accurate and timely assessment records in line with funding and compliance requirements
*Work closely with employers to support apprentice progress and engagement
*Contribute to quality assurance processes, including internal verification and standardisation
*Promote high standards of health & safety, safeguarding, and professional conduct
Essential Requirements*Occupational competence in Plumbing / Building Services (time-served or equivalent)
*Experience assessing or teaching apprentices within an FE or training provider setting
*Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent)
*Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and on-programme assessment
*Ability to engage, motivate, and support apprentices of varying abilities
*Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills
Desirable*Internal Quality Assurer qualification (IQA)
*Experience working with EPA processes
*Knowledge of current funding and compliance requirements
