Job Description:
Job Title: Accounts Payable & Receivable Officer (6-Month FTC)
Location: Islington (N7)
Reports To: Financial Controller
Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract – with potential to go permanent (Full-Time, Fully Office Based)
Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 (pro-rated for 6 months)
Working Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Sector: Hospitality (preferred but not essential)
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable professional to join a fast-paced, multi-site hospitality business on a 6-month fixed term contract. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day AP/AR operations across both the restaurant and coffee divisions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, thrives in a dynamic environment, and can confidently manage end-to-end ledgers while contributing to the wider finance team’s success.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
*Full ownership of both AP & AR ledgers
*Preparation of payment runs and obtaining relevant approvals
*Supplier account reconciliation and ensuring timely, accurate payments
*Debtor management, reconciliations, and reporting
Month-End & Reporting
*Support month-end close including accruals and AP reconciliations
*Bank reconciliations, journals, and reporting
*Assist with VAT return processes
Financial Operations
*Process company credit cards, staff expenses and related postings
*Handle internal and external finance queries
*Build strong working relationships across the organisation and with suppliers
*Ad-hoc finance support as required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
*Previous experience in an AP/AR role
*Strong communicator with a collaborative, hands-on approach
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
*Intermediate Excel skills
*Proactive, detail-focused, and eager to improve processes
Desirable:
*Experience within hospitality, FMCG, or multi-site environments
*Familiarity with the following systems:
*Sage 200 / Intacct
*Xero
