SEND Mentor – Primary (SEMH & ADHD)
Location: Reading, Southcote
Start: ASAP
Type: Full-time

A nurturing and forward-thinking primary setting is seeking a dedicated SEND Mentor to join their team, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and ADHD. The school provides a highly supportive environment with a strong focus on therapeutic approaches, emotional regulation, and personalised learning.
About the Role
The SEND Mentor will:
*Work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
*Support children with SEMH and ADHD to engage positively in learning
*Implement behaviour-regulation strategies and restorative approaches
*Build trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, valued and understood
*Liaise with teaching staff, safeguarding teams and external professionals
*Help to create a calm, structured and supportive learning environment
Ideal Candidate
The ideal applicant will have:
*Experience working with primary-aged children
*A background supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD or similar needs
*Strong behaviour-management and de-escalation skills
*Patience, resilience and a genuinely nurturing approach
*The ability to form positive, stable relationships
*A passion for helping children overcome barriers and thrive
