Job Description:
The school caters for children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, including:
* Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
* Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
* Complex Autism
* Physical disabilities and medical needs
* Sensory and communication needs
Pupils require high levels of care, structure, and individualised support throughout the school day.
The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex needs
* Assist with personal care, mobility, and feeding where required
* Support learning activities tailored to individual education plans (EHCPs)
* Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
* Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate * Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly PMLD, SLD, or complex autism
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
* Willingness to support with personal care
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
