Domestic Waste Technician

Location: Field-based (Peterborough region)
Contract: 12-week temporary assignment initially
Salary: £27,500 per annum equivalent
Hours: 40 per week, flexible shifts between 7:00am – 6:00pm
Mileage: Claimable if using own vehicle, may be using a company van

About the Role
Are you passionate about protecting the environment and delivering great customer service? We’re looking for a Domestic Waste Technician to oversee the safe and compliant discharge of domestic waste at Water Recycling Centres. You’ll travel across multiple sites, ensuring operations run smoothly and in line with regulations.
What You’ll Do
*Oversee daily operations at domestic waste import sites.
*Conduct site and equipment checks, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high housekeeping standards.
*Promote health, safety, and environmental compliance.
*Sample and assess waste for compliance and report irregularities.
*Provide professional, friendly support to customers and site teams.
What We’re Looking For
*Full UK driving licence (essential)
*Own vehicle
*Based near Peterborough.
*Flexible approach to working hours.
*Strong problem-solving skills and proactive attitude.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
*Knowledge of wastewater regulations (desirable).
