Job Description:
Civil Enforcement Officer (Temporary)Location: Harlow, Essex (covering surrounding areas)
Pay Rate: £20.48 Umbrella
Contract: Temporary
You will be required to start and finish each shift at Latton Bush, Southern Way, Harlow, working on a rota basis across on-street and off-street locations.
Key Responsibilities*Patrol and enforce parking regulations across designated areas to ensure a fair and effective service
*Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) in line with relevant legislation, procedures and Parking Orders
*Provide a professional, customer-focused presence and educate members of the public on parking restrictions
*Report defects such as damaged lines or signage to management
*Maintain enforcement equipment in good working order
*Attend adjudication hearings or court when required
*Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments
*Adhere to data protection legislation and handle personal data securely
*Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers and partner agencies
Essential Experience & Requirements*Full, clean UK driving licence (manual)
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Numerate and literate
*Physically fit and able to walk over 10 miles per day
*Confident using handheld devices, cameras and mobile applications
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Flexible approach to working hours and rota patterns
*Provide own footwear and black trousers (no denim)
Desirable Experience*Previous experience issuing PCNs
*Knowledge of parking enforcement regulations and the Highway Code
*Understanding of the Traffic Management Act 2004
*Familiarity with local roads and parking restrictions
*Experience working alongside police, PCSOs or neighbourhood teams
Skills & Personal Attributes*Professional, tactful and diplomatic approach
*Ability to manage challenging situations and deal with irate members of the public
*High levels of integrity and attention to detail
*Organised, methodical and able to use initiative
*Strong understanding of Health & Safety and data protection principles
