Supervising Social Worker – Fostering Team (South Devon)

We’re working with Devon County Council, who are looking for an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join their friendly Fostering, Supervision & Support team in South Devon.
This is a great opportunity to join a service that’s passionate about supporting foster carers to provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children. You’ll be involved in all areas of fostering work – from supervision and support to unannounced visits, annual reviews, and delivering training to carers.
The ideal person will bring strong fostering knowledge, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to balance priorities confidently in a busy but rewarding environment.
You’ll need:
*A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
*Post-qualifying experience within children and families
*A solid understanding of fostering legislation, standards, and regulations
*Strong organisational, recording, and time-management skills
*Flexibility to travel across the South Devon area
This role offers a mix of office and home working (to be discussed at interview), and you’ll be part of a supportive team who really value good practice and reflective supervision.
To apply for this role, you will need to hold -
*A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
*A relevant Social Work Qualification
*Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
*Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
*3 Years of referencing
*Driving license with access to a car
