Commercial Finance Accountant
Location: London (Hybrid working)
Department: Commercial Finance
Reporting to: Commercial Finance Director
About the RoleA leading media and communications group is looking to appoint a commercially focused Commercial Finance Accountant to join its finance function. The position provides exposure across multiple agencies within the group and plays an important role in supporting business decisions through accurate forecasting, reporting, and financial insight.
Working closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams, you will help strengthen financial planning, enhance reporting processes, and deliver clear, meaningful analysis to support overall business performance. This role is well suited to a qualified accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities*Lead short-term and long-term forecasting discussions with client and account teams, ensuring project spend and revenue are accurately reflected
*Review month-end revenue and compensation figures, advising on accruals, deferrals, and variances against forecast
*Provide financial support and analysis for new business opportunities and growth initiatives
*Support the rollout and adoption of a new project management system across multiple agencies
*Produce detailed compensation forecasting and analysis, including margin and ratio reporting by department
*Work alongside technology and business intelligence teams to develop a performance scorecard for senior leadership
*Prepare financial reports and presentations for board-level review
*Deliver ad-hoc analysis and respond to tailored reporting requests from the wider business
Skills and Experience*Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
*Previous experience within an agency or professional services environment is highly desirable
*Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
*Proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail
*Advanced Excel skills
*Experience using project management or workflow systems is an advantage
