This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and expanding private client tax team and supporting a varied portfolio of personal tax clients. The role offers a genuine mix of compliance and advisory work, with particular exposure to trusts, inheritance tax and capital gains matters.
You’ll work closely with Partners and senior colleagues, contributing to technically interesting work while having the support and flexibility to continue developing your expertise. The position would suit someone with strong personal tax experience who enjoys detail-driven work, client interaction and the opportunity to broaden their advisory exposure within a collaborative environment.
Role Responsibilities
*Preparation and review of Self-Assessment tax returns, including capital gains computations and property income schedules.
*Managing and monitoring tax return workflows to ensure deadlines and payments are met.
*Advising clients on Capital Gains Tax, including UK property disposals.
*Inheritance Tax planning and compliance, including review of IHT forms.
*Trust work, including the Trust Registration Service and IHT aspects of trusts.
*Statutory Residence Test reviews and tax returns for non-resident individuals.
*Drafting tax planning advice and supporting Partners on advisory projects.
*Managing a portfolio of private clients and acting as a key point of contact.
*Reviewing junior team members’ work and providing technical guidance.
*Identifying opportunities for additional services and supporting business development activities.
Personal Requirements
*ATT qualified or qualified by experience.
*CTA qualified, studying, or looking to progress towards CTA (desirable but not essential).
*Solid experience in personal tax compliance with exposure to advisory work.
*Trust experience preferred.
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
*Confident communicator, able to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients.
*Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
*Self-motivated, proactive and able to manage workloads under pressure.
