Job Description:
Finance OfficerSalary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum
Location: Fully remote (UK-based)
Contract: Permanent, full-time (36 hours per week)
About the organisationWe are a small housing association working closely with a local authority to manage and maintain over 500 homes in central London. As a close-knit team of five, we operate with a strong team ethos, varied workloads, and a collaborative approach to delivering high-quality housing services.
The roleWe’re looking for a Finance Officer to provide effective, day-to-day financial support to the Director of Finance. You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial controls, processing transactions, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and contributing to the annual accounts and audit.

Key responsibilities*Full transactional processing, including:
*Sales and purchase invoices
*Preparing payment runs
*Allocating receipts and payments
*Bank reconciliations
*Journal preparation
*Quarterly VAT returns and reconciliations
*Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations in line with the month-end timetable
*Maintaining and reconciling the property fixed asset register
*Calculating void loss in line with reporting deadlines
*Analysing repairs charges from the local authority
*Supporting the Director of Finance with ad-hoc duties as required
About youYou’ll be organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively and take pride in producing accurate, well-maintained financial records.
Essential:
*Experience in a finance support or finance officer role
*Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*Confidence dealing with people at all levels
*Experience of invoice processing and general finance administration
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
*Educated to A-level (or equivalent) with GCSEs in English and Maths
Desirable:
*AAT qualification or currently studying (or equivalent)
*Experience working in a housing or public-sector environment
*Experience of minute taking
*Interest in affordable housing and development
Working arrangements & benefits*Fully remote role (UK-based)
*36-hour working week, with core hours of 10am–4pm
*Annual bonus subject to attendance and performance
*Supportive, small-team environment with exposure to a wide range of finance activity
