Role: Payroll Specialist (6 Months FTC)
Salary: £55,000–£60,000
Location: Milton Keynes (minimum four days per week on site)

Catalyst Partners is working with a leading international organisation within the manufacturing sector, known for its operational scale, established market presence and commitment to delivering high-quality products. The business is undergoing continued growth and investment, creating the need for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to enhance the accuracy, governance and efficiency of its payroll operations.
Based in Milton Keynes, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing payroll processes for a large, diverse workforce. This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, operationally focused environment. The role is predominantly office-based, with a requirement to be on site at least four days per week.
Key Responsibilities*Manage end-to-end payroll processing for UK employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and full legislative compliance.
*Maintain payroll systems and records, ensuring data integrity and alignment with HR and finance processes.
*Act as the subject-matter expert for payroll queries, resolving issues and providing clear guidance to employees and managers.
*Liaise with external providers, auditors and internal stakeholders to support monthly and annual reporting cycles.
*Drive continuous improvement across payroll processes, recommending and implementing enhancements to systems, controls and accuracy.
*Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory deductions.
Candidate Profile*Strong experience in payroll administration or payroll specialist roles, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
*Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory reporting and best practice.
*Highly organised with strong numerical accuracy and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
*Confident stakeholder manager with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to communicate payroll matters clearly.
*Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or similarly fast-paced environments is advantageous but not essential.
*Comfortable working predominantly on site (minimum four days per week in Milton Keynes).
