Job Description:
NEC4 Site Supervisor
*Contract Type: Fixed-term / Contract
*Location: Oldham
*Salary: £50 per hour
We are seeking a NEC4 Site Supervisor to join our Highways & Engineering team at Oldham Council. This role is essential for providing professional site supervision services for highways and infrastructure schemes, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high standards. The successful candidate will lead on-site supervision, contract administration support, and stakeholder coordination.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Lead the application, management, and delivery of NEC3/NEC4 site supervision, ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements.
*Manage site supervision activities throughout the lifecycle of each scheme, including record keeping and programme monitoring.
*Supervise, manage, and coordinate the work of external contributors such as consultants, contractors, and specialist advisors.
*Coordinate and supervise third parties and key stakeholders involved in scheme development and delivery.
*Contribute to the preparation, review, and monitoring of construction programmes.
*Support consultation activities, including attending public meetings and representing the Highways & Engineering Group.
*Provide a customer-focused service for complaints, enquiries, and service requests.
*Maintain strong liaison with other Council services and external bodies to ensure coordinated delivery of highways schemes.
*Ensure all projects comply with the Council’s governance, assurance, and reporting requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Extensive knowledge and practical application of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts in a site supervision context.
*Strong understanding of highways construction, maintenance, and improvement schemes.
*Proven experience in NEC3/NEC4 site supervision on highways or civil engineering projects.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with contractors, stakeholders, and the public.
*Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
*Strong project and programme management skills, with the ability to manage multiple schemes concurrently.
