Job Title: Business Analyst - Finance & HR (Payroll Focus) Location: UCL(University College London)- Bidborough House, London
Work Pattern: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week - Tuesday is mandatory)
Contract Duration: March 2026 - August 2026
Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Full Time)
Overview University College London (UCL) is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Finance and HR systems, specifically Payroll and Payments, to support ongoing transformation initiatives. This role will work closely with stakeholders across finance, HR, and technology teams to analyse, document, and improve payroll-related processes and data flows.
Key Responsibilities * Gather, analyse, and document business requirements across Finance and HR, with a strong focus on payroll and payments
* Support payroll transformation projects, including process improvement and data optimisation
* Analyse payments data, tracking payment flows and identifying discrepancies or improvement opportunities
* Work closely with technical teams to support Oracle Payroll-based solutions
* Engage stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs and operational requirements
* Produce clear documentation including business requirements, process maps, and impact assessments
* Support testing, validation, and implementation activities as required
Essential Skills & Experience * Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within Finance and HR environments
* Strong hands-on experience with:
* Payroll processes
* Tracking payments and payments data
* Experience supporting payroll-related transformation projects
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within Higher Education
* Exposure to Oracle Payroll / Oracle HCM / Oracle Financials
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment with on-site collaboration
Desirable (Bonus) Experience * Broader HR systems experience
* Experience working in large, complex organisations
* Familiarity with data reporting and reconciliation related to payroll and payments
Interview Process * Stage 1: Informal conversation focused on team and role suitability
* Stage 2: Formal interview
