Job Description:
My client are looking for a full timeBand 2 Bank Typist to work in Bath.
Shift Times: 08:30am - 16:30pm Monday to Friday.
Office based full time - 37.5 hours.
What You Need:
·This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department as a medical secretary to provide full and comprehensive medical secretarial support to the Department.
We are looking for an experienced, friendly, enthusiastic proactive medical secretary with exceptional multi-tasking skills to assist the smooth running of a very busy secretarial office who will provide a central point of communication for patients and staff.
Exceptional computer skills are essential and a cheerful, friendly, and flexible approach to the workload is necessary. This is a busy role which will involve multi-tasking with ever changing priorities within a busy out-patient department. The role is intended to be flexible.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*To provide a complete medical secretarial service including, audio typing, filing, scanning, photocopying and composition of letters. To provide fastand accurate copy and audio typing service to the department producing clinic letters and other documents.
*Preparing and organising papers for meetings, attending, and taking notes as necessary.
*To liaise with nurses, doctors and other members of the multi-disciplinary team including inpatient and outpatient booking teams to provide a quality service for patients.
*To work as part of a team with shared responsibilities to ensure smooth running of the department.
*To provide a first point of contact, answering telephone enquiries, taking, and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner and using own judgement to establish the priority of issues and act as appropriate. To arrange patient appointments when necessary.
*To monitor and check RTT (Referral to Treatment) outcomes/pathway and adjust if necessary. Check patients have been correctly listed for treatments.
*To assist with the smooth running of consultant diaries and help organise meetings as appropriate.
*To deal with incoming correspondence, using initiative as appropriate.
*To develop and maintain computerised filing systems.
*To make best use of information technology.
*To check patients are correctly listed on patient databases and assist booking clerks as required.
*To assist in the fast-track treatment for patients with cancer.
*To maintain an efficient system for tracing of health records and retrieve reports from electronic databases (in-house training provided).
*To Provide secretarial cover across the directorate as necessary.
*To ensure that all relevant parties are informed of any leave to be taken by consultants and their teams.
*To be flexible to the needs of the Directorate and of the Trust as a whole.
*To maintain a tidy and pleasant office environment.
