Marketing & Business Development Senior Executive - Financial Markets
Department: Marketing & Business Development
Location: London or Bristol
Reports to: FM Senior M&BD Manager
Career Level: Level 3

As the Marketing & Business Development Senior Executive for Financial Markets (FM), you will be a core source of knowledge on the FM practice areas, ensuring marketing and business development activities are aligned, relevant, and strategically effective.
Key practice areas include:
Real Estate, SFD, DCM, Tax, FS Regulation, FS Funds, and Banking.
You will work closely with the M&BD Hub, FM stakeholders, and cross-sector teams to deliver campaigns, events, content, reporting, and client development initiatives.
Team structure: a core team of three, supported by international colleagues.
Responsibilities:
Profile Raising
*Work with PR, digital, and events leads to identify and action opportunities that raise the FM IPG’s profile.
*Contribute to creative content and collateral to support visibility.
Campaign and Thought Leadership Delivery
*Support the development and delivery of thought leadership and strategic campaigns across the FM IPG.
Reporting and Insight
*Prepare high-level reports for Practices & Markets, Sector teams, Client Managers, and regional teams.
*Identify trends, opportunities, and contribute to brainstorming on how the FM IPG can respond.
Business Planning & Budget Management
*Be familiar with the FM IPG BD plan and budget.
*Plan marketing and event activity with practice group heads.
*Ensure all spend follows budget approval processes and aligns with strategic objectives.
CRM & Digital
*Use InterAction CRM and coordinate tasks with the M&BD Hub.
*Ensure website and intranet content is accurate and up to date.
Directory Submissions
*Prepare first drafts, coordinate with fee-earners, submit entries, and support interview and research processes.
Events
*Coordinate and execute FM events, both internal and client-facing, including third-party collaborations.
New Partner Integration
*Support onboarding of new Partners into the FM IPG.
*Capture market insights, reputation feedback, and competitive intelligence.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
*Work with regional and sector teams to ensure international alignment and support IPG objectives.
Client Development
*Coordinate with the Client Programme team and Client Partners.
*Ensure alignment between FM IPG activities and key client priorities.
*Drive the capture of Client Listening feedback.
Firmwide Initiatives
*Support firmwide M&BD Leadership Team activities and complex cross-functional projects.
Budget Oversight
*Monitor spending, allocate budgets, challenge unplanned costs, and ensure strong financial discipline.
What We’re Looking For
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in marketing or business development (professional services preferred)
*CIM diploma or equivalent (desirable)
*Strong initiative, attention to detail, and quality focus
*Advanced client development expertise
*Experience managing and motivating teams
*Able to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
*Solutions-driven and commercially focused
*Strong relationship-building skills at all levels
*Skilled in cross-selling and internal/external collaboration
*Confident budget management and good Excel knowledge
*Strong pitching capability (including large panel RFPs)
*Comfortable challenging constructively and advising colleagues
*Knowledge of CRM systems, websites, intranets, and document management tools
