About the Role
We are seeking reliable, confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join a secondary school in the borough of Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in working in education, whether you’re an aspiring teacher, recent graduate, experienced support staff member, or someone looking for meaningful, flexible work within a school environment.
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to classes in the absence of the classroom teacher. You’ll support students’ learning, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure a positive, productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain on task
*Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff
*Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
*Assisting students with their learning when needed
*Reporting any issues or concerns to school leadership
*Maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Confidence in managing groups of students aged 11–18
*A positive, professional attitude
*Previous experience working with young people (formal or informal) is desirable
*Degree or equivalent experience preferred but not essential
*Must be willing to undergo Enhanced DBS checks
