Accounts Payable Team LeaderLocation: Luton
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The roleWe’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to oversee and support a busy AP function based in Luton. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a small team, improving processes, and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
You’ll be hands-on when needed but will also play a key role in managing workloads, supporting development, and maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
Key responsibilities*Leading and motivating the Accounts Payable team
*Overseeing end-to-end AP processes, including invoice processing and payment runs
*Ensuring accuracy, controls, and deadlines are met
*Acting as a point of escalation for supplier and internal queries
*Supporting month-end close and reconciliations
*Identifying process improvements and efficiencies
*Training and developing junior team members
What we’re looking for*Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, ideally with team leadership or supervisory responsibility
*Strong understanding of AP processes and controls
*Confident communicator with a collaborative leadership style
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Desirable (but not essential)*Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Sage, NetSuite)
*Previous experience in a shared service or high-volume environment
