Purpose of the Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will work with families who require additional support due to a range of challenges. You will deliver practical, focused interventions, coordinate multi-agency support, and help families develop the skills and resilience they need to create a stable and positive environment for their children.

*Driving: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential
*Service Areas: Early Help, Child in Need, Child Protection, Cared for Children


As a Family Support Worker, you will:
*Build strong, constructive relationships with families to support the safety and development of children aged 0–19.
*Carry out whole-family assessments and develop tailored SMART action plans.
*Provide direct support to children, parents and carers, using evidence-based approaches to drive positive change.
*Lead or participate in Early Help Assessments and Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.
*Work closely with schools, health professionals, social care teams and other agencies to coordinate effective support.
*Advocate for families and ensure they have access to the right services at the right time.
*Keep accurate, high-quality case notes, reports and chronologies on council systems,
including Liquidlogic.
*Support families to attend appointments, including accompanying them when needed.
*Conduct Missing From Home interviews where appropriate.
*Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local policies, procedures and developments within children’s services.


Requirements
*Experience working with children, young people or families in a professional setting.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Ability to work independently in homes and community environments.
*Good understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency working.
*Professional, calm and solution-focused approach when dealing with challenges.
*Confident in keeping clear, accurate written records.
*Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
