Job Description:
Secretary/ PA (Residential Property)
Our client based in Hertfordshire is recruiting a Secretary/ PA to join their busy and friendly team. The successful candidate will be appointed to assist the Partner and Head of Residential and the other members of the Residential Property practice area in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. You will be expected to work as a team member within your practice area and the firm as a whole.
This is a full-time permanent position working onsite, 36 hours per week. The working hours are 9am-5.15pm, Mon-Thurs and 9am - 5pm on Friday. The role offers a salary of £27,000-£31,000 depending on experience, plus 20 days holiday (increasing one day per year up to 25 days), Non-contractual profit share bonus (not guaranteed), Auto-enrolment Pension with Royal London (after 3 months), 4 x salary life assurance (after 6 months), £600 contribution to a wellness activity (after 6 months), BUPA healthcare (after 6 months), Birthday leave and offsite parking expenses reimbursed.
Duties include:
*To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Partner and Head of Residential Property and generally within the Residential Property practice area, particularly the sale and or purchase of residential freehold and leasehold properties and the mortgage of such properties.
*To liaise with clients (and third parties) by correspondence, telephone or attendance.
*To type a wide range of documents with speed and accuracy and paying attention to detail
*To assist the other members of the Residential Property practice area in organising their work effectively
*To carry out any reasonable instruction from the HOPA in a quick efficient manner
*To participate in practice area meetings
*To comply with the Firm’s file management and file organisation procedures
*To comply with the Firm’s and the Law Society’s rules regarding accounting procedures
*To comply with all office procedures and standards
*Under the overall guidance of the relevant team member to assist in dealing with clients’ matters in an efficient manner
*To record messages and attendances and to ensure that the relevant team member receives information in an appropriate and timely manner
About the person:
*Appropriate Secretarial qualifications and/ or experience
*Experience within Residential Property will be helpful but not essential
*Excellent IT skills
*Confident, professional and friendly with the ability to build good working relationships internally and externally
*Effective team worker
*Flexible and adaptable mindset
*’Hands-on’ approach
*Strong organisational skills
*Effective oral and written communication skills
General requirements
*To work within the Residential Property team and the Firm as a whole if required
*To perform any duty not specifically referred to above, which may be reasonably requested by the Residential Property team

*To deal with colleagues, clients and other external contacts in a friendly and efficient manner
*To observe the Firm’s policies, rules and procedures
*To act in the best interests of the Firm at all times
