Job Description:
Special Needs Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support
Recruiting for a caring, patient and flexible Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support for a KS1 student with Down Syndrome. The student is working at a very low level and not accustomed to the daily school routine for learning. The successful candidate will work part of the day with the student and around the school where needed for the rest of the day.
To start as soon as possible - Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm (Term time only)
Special Needs Teaching Assistant Role:
*Provide tailored 1-1 support to meet the child’s individual learning, communication and social needs.
*Support access to the curriculum through differentiated activities and resources.
*Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
*Assist with personal care where required
*Experience working with SEN children (experience with Down syndrome is desirable but not essential)
*Have good communication skills and can be adaptable to the child’s needs.
