We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in the furniture industry to drive growth across both public and private sector clients. This role is suited to a proven sales professional who brings an established network, a demonstrable track record, and the ability to build long-term, profitable client relationships.
You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, converting leads into revenue, and nurturing key accounts from initial engagement through to repeat business.
Key Responsibilities
*Proactively identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the furniture market
*Leverage an existing "little black book" of contacts to accelerate pipeline growth
*Sell furniture solutions to both public sector organisations (including frameworks, local authorities, education, healthcare) and private sector clients
*Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers, specifiers, and procurement teams
*Manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and presentations through to negotiation and close
*Work closely with internal teams (design, operations, delivery) to ensure client requirements are met
*Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and forecasts
*Represent the business professionally at meetings, events, and industry functions
Required Experience & Skills
*Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar senior sales role within the furniture industry
*A demonstrable track record of winning and growing accounts
*An established network of relevant industry contacts
*Strong understanding of both public and private sector sales processes
*Exceptional relationship-building and client-nurturing skills
*Confident negotiator with a commercial mindset
*Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working autonomously
*Excellent communication and presentation skills
