Job Description:
Partner, Property
Build it. Lead it. Take it into equity partner.
We’re working with a West End Firm, a firm with a genuinely distinctive reputation and a strong platform, who are now looking to appoint a Salaried Partner to grow and develop their Property department, with a clear bias towards commercial property conveyancing which will develop into an equity partner role
This is not a caretaker role and it is not a title-only partnership. This is a strategic hire for someone who wants influence, autonomy and a real route to equity once the practice is further established and scaled.
If you are a senior property lawyer who enjoys building teams, developing client relationships and shaping a department’s direction, this is the kind of opportunity that does not come along often.
The opportunity:
This firm already advises across both residential and commercial property, but this role exists to strengthen and expand the commercial property offering, develop new streams of work and position the department for long-term growth.
You will have the backing of an established firm, the freedom to develop the practice, and a clear expectation that this role progresses to equity partnership.
What you’ll be doing:
*Leading and developing the Property department, with a focus on commercial property conveyancing
*Growing existing client relationships and generating new work
*Advising on a range of commercial property transactions, with residential work where appropriate
*Setting strategy, workflows and service standards for the department
*Building, mentoring and developing junior lawyers as the team grows
*Working collaboratively with partners across the firm to cross-refer and expand instructions
*Playing a key role in business development, profile raising and longer-term firm strategy
What they’re looking for:
*10+ years’ PQE in property law
*Strong background in commercial property conveyancing
*Experience handling residential property work is advantageous
*A proven or emerging practice builder, not just a technical specialist
*Commercially astute, client-focused and confident leading from the front
*Someone motivated by progression to equity partnership
Why this role stands out:
*Salaried Partner position with a genuine route to equity
*Opportunity to shape and grow a department, not inherit one
*Strong firm brand and platform to build from
*High level of autonomy and influence
*Long-term strategic role rather than a short-term fix
This is a standout opportunity for a senior property lawyer who wants more than incremental progression and is ready to take ownership of a department within a respected firm.
Interested? Get in touch for a confidential conversation and we will talk through the detail, the trajectory and the expectations openly and discreetly.
