Job Description:
*Annual Salary: £40,000
*Location: East London
*Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week, 5 days a week)
Join a leading East Asian and South-East Asian cultural supermarket that brings a unique "Everyday Lifestyle One-Stop Store" concept to London. Offering an extensive range of over 10,000 premium and niche groceries, from traditional staples to trending street food favourites, our stores are a cultural destination as much as they are a supermarket. This role is based in a high-profile location at the heart of our brand.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Take full ownership of daily store operations and overall performance.
*Open and close the store in line with operational requirements.
*Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and legal standards.
*Manage stock ordering, inventory control, merchandising, and visual presentation.
*Conduct stock takes and investigate discrepancies.
*Monitor and improve key performance indicators (sales, margins, shrinkage, labour).
*Control payroll budgets and schedule staff efficiently, minimising unnecessary overtime.
*Report on store profitability and progress against financial targets.
*Implement retail loss prevention strategies.
Leadership & Team Management:
*Recruit, train, develop, and retain a high-performing store team.
*Lead, motivate, and inspire staff to consistently achieve targets.
*Delegate workloads effectively and prioritise tasks.
*Monitor staff behaviour, attitude, and presentation to reflect brand values.
*Resolve staff conflicts and customer complaints quickly and professionally.
*Act as a role model and mentor, setting a clear standard for excellence.
Customer Experience:
*Ensure outstanding customer service at all times.
*Build a welcoming, culturally engaging shopping environment.
*Share product knowledge with customers and team members.
*Communicate effectively with customers, staff, senior management, and other store teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in Store Management or a similar retail leadership role.
*Strong customer service focus with a track record of high customer satisfaction.
*Experience with retail loss prevention, inventory management, and KPIs.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Confident leader with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
*Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
*Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
*Previous retail experience is essential.
*Familiarity with East Asian and South-East Asian products and culture is a strong plus.
*Mandarin language skills are highly desirable and will be considered a bonus (Not Essential).
