Job Description:
The opportunity:
Nigel Wright are currently working with an established food manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Manager. The newly appointed Quality Manager is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for safeguarding food safety, product quality and regulatory compliance at the manufacturing site. Reporting to the Site General Manager, this role leads the Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory and Sanitation functions, ensuring strong systems, audit readiness and a culture of continuous improvement across operations.
The Quality Manager will oversee HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, allergen management and environmental monitoring programmes, working closely with the Quality Systems Manager, Hygiene Supervisor and wider technical teams. The role leads risk assessments, KPI delivery, internal audits, mock recalls and root cause investigations, ensuring issues are resolved and prevented from recurring.
Leadership is central to this role. As the new Quality Manager, you will coach and develop the Quality team, building capability, and driving consistent GMP behaviours across the site. Additional responsibilities include leading third party and customer audits, overseeing change management from a quality and food safety perspective, and ensuring correct controls for recipe and material changes.
We are looking for a Quality Manager who has operated as part of an SLT and ahs the following experience:
*Proven experience in a Quality Management role within food manufacturing
*Level 4 Food Hygiene (or equivalent)
*IOSH Managing Safely
*Strong understanding of Quality & Food Safety systems in low and high care environments
*Highly self disciplined, adaptable, and an effective communicator
