Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Skelmersdale
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: £16 -£18
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and maintain CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components according to engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up and operate CNC machines (e.g., milling, turning, grinding)
*Interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints
*Perform quality checks using measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
*Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and efficiency
*Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues
*Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
*Work closely with the production team to meet daily targets
Skills & Experience
*Previous CNC Machinist experience (minimum 1-3 years)
*Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
*Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds
*Familiarity with FANUC, Siemens, Haas, or similar controls
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Good problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable (Not Essential)
*Apprenticeship or qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Machining
*Experience with CAD/CAM software
*Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods
