Client Details
We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a growing finance team based in North Manchester. This is a full-time, office-based role offering a fantastic salary and the opportunity to play a key part in the financial management and decision-making of the business.
Description
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
*Produce monthly management accounts, project reports, budgets and forecasts.
*Track and review contract and project profitability, including WIP, variations and payment applications.
*Analyse project performance to highlight financial risks, cost overruns and opportunities for improvement.
*Provide clear financial insight to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
*Maintain and enhance accounting procedures, systems and internal controls.
*Monitor income, expenditure and cash flow to ensure projects remain within agreed budgets.
*Support, develop and mentor junior members of the finance team.
*Translate complex financial data into clear, practical information for non-financial stakeholders.
*Ensure accurate WIP reporting, revenue recognition and payment applications in line with relevant accounting standards.
*Proactively identify and manage financial and commercial risks, particularly around project delivery and contract performance.
Profile
A successful candidate will be:
*Proven experience in a Management Accountant role
*Part qualified, fully qualified or qualified by experience
*Experience working within contracting or construction industry - essential
*Strong excel and financial analysis skills
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
*Confident communicator with a proactive, hands on approach
