SEN Teacher – Sheffield & Surrounding Areas
Start: ASAP
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting experienced SEN Teachers to work on a supply and cover basis in Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
About the Role
You will be working within mainstream schools, specialist provisions, or alternative settings, supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs. This role is ideal for teachers who are adaptable, confident, and committed to delivering high-quality learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
*Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils
*Differentiating content to support a range of abilities and learning styles
*Working closely with support staff, SENDCos, and external professionals
*Managing behaviour effectively using positive and proactive strategies
*Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
*Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
Requirements
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
*Experience working with pupils with SEN (essential)
*Strong classroom management and communication skills
*Flexibility to travel to schools across Sheffield and nearby areas
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable Training / Experience
(Highly advantageous but not essential)
*Team Teach / Positive Handling
*Experience in Autism, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or complex needs settings
*Personal care or medical needs experience
*Speech and Language support training
*Moving & Handling or safeguarding training
