SEN Teaching Assistants – Sheffield & Surrounding Areas
Start: ASAP
Contract: Supply & Cover
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply and cover basis across mainstream and specialist provisions in Sheffield and the surrounding areas. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small-group basis
*Assisting with classroom activities and learning interventions
*Following individual support plans and behaviour strategies
*Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENDCos, and support staff
*Providing personal care where required (training provided if needed)
*Promoting independence, engagement, and wellbeing for all pupils
Requirements
*Experience working with children or young people with SEN (essential)
*Ability to travel to different schools across Sheffield and nearby areas
*A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable Training / Qualifications
(Highly advantageous but not essential)
*Team Teach / Positive Behaviour Support
*Personal Care / Manual Handling
*Speech and Language training
*Autism Awareness
*Moving & Handling or Medical Needs training
